Here is the real weekend wrap-up.
Glamma and Grandpa were in town Friday through Sunday. Friday we relaxed and had pizza and lots of playtime! Saturday* morning we went to the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore. It was a bit of a whirlwind trip since we had to zip out after Abby's morning nap and get back before lunchtime/afternoon naps. But we did it and it was a great time. It was a perfect day--not to hot, not to cold! Madelyn requested the zebras so that was our first stop. We spent a good amount of time in the "children's zoo"
Look closely in the bubbles and you can see the "prairie dogs"--Madelyn and Kevin in the middle one and Grandpa Nelson in the one to left:
One side note about Saturday*, it was our wedding anniversary. Yes, indeedy, 6 years! It is really hard for me to believe that we have been married for 6 years. It seems like our wedding day was just last year. But then again we have accomplished quite a bit since then. We've lived in three homes (two of which we have owned) in two different states and had two children. Not bad. The sixth year gifts are sugar and iron. I got Kevin a new cell phone, the Chocolate (very fancy! and gets us back up to date as far as technology), for the sugar and a set of plastic golf clubs and gift card for a day or evening golfing date for the iron. He got me two beautiful "children" charms for my charm bracelet and a gorgeous bouquet of flowers. How sweet is he? I am pretty lucky. We celebrated by going out to dinner at the place where we held the rehearsal dinner 6 years ago...and then went for drinks at the Belvedere where we had the reception. My parents surprised us there and bought us a drink! I had an Italian Surfer for old time's sake.
Sunday we made it to early (8 a.m.) church. It worked out well because after church Abby could have her morning nap and then we could head down to Fells Point to meet my parents for brunch at Kooper's. Another beautiful day and of course good company.
It's good to be grand! The girls and all four of their grandparents:
The best part about the weekend: Way to hard to choose!
